Different states have different standards for whether a court can order expungement of a record or for it to be sealed.   Expungement vs. Pardon A pardon is similar to expunging a record but makes use of a different structure of authority. The process for expungement at the state level includes a petition and hearing. In general, states do not allow expungement for serious crimes like rape, murder, kidnapping, and assault. Felonies and crimes in the first degree are also often ineligible, particularly when the victim of the crime is under the age of 18. Most state statutes require offenders to wait a set amount of time before making a request for their records to be expunged. For example, if someone wanted a speeding ticket expunged from their record, they might have to wait a set amount of years to request it and show that it was a one-time incident.  Some states allow families to request expungement of a crime committed by someone who has died. The time in American history where slavery was at its most popular often overlooks women, as many times in history tend to. In many depictions of women’s roles in slave owning households they are simply depicted as the mistress, the wife of the master. As far as female slaves are concerned, they are often simply lumped in with the tales of the men. I have always personally been interested in what women’s opinions truly were of slavery amongst a world filled with slave owning men who saw their slaves as nothing more than property. I also wondered how the experiences of female slaves differed from the lives of male slaves, as sometimes slavery is put together as one massive institution and fails to look at the individual lives and experiences that slaves had, particularly female ones. The College offers high school and undergraduate education for 2,000 girl’s and young women. Can this be sustained? Although the cause for women’s rights in Taliban affected areas has been supported by the developing countries and the western world, it has always been very hard to implement it at the grass root level. The women activists or others spreading education or fighting for women’s rights have to face the brunt of the Taliban. Malala’s cause has gained support from every corner, the blog she wrote for BBC with the pseudo name Gul Makai about the poor state of girls in Swat under the Taliban earned her innumerable sympathizers. The International Children’s peace prize in October 2011 and Pakistani first National peace prize further gave recognition to her work and the documentaries made on her added to the popularity. Este principio de debido proceso aplica, por interpretacià ³n de la Corte Suprema, a todas las personas presentes en suelo estadounidense y sujetas a su jurisdiccià ³n: ciudadanos estadounidenses, residentes permanentes, extranjeros presentes temporal y legalmente y migrantes indocumentados. El debido proceso implica que el gobierno debe probar los cargos contra cualquier persona en un juicio justo y con las debidas apelaciones. Ahora la expulsià ³n inmediata se aplica en todo el territorio nacional de Estados Unidos y a todas las personas que lleven menos de 2 aà ±os en el paà ­s o no puedan demostrarlo. En la actualidad y segà ºn datos de la Universidad de Syracuse hay ms de 800 mil casos pendientes migratorios pendientes. La cortes con las mayores demoras se encuentran en California, Texas, Nueva York, Florida y Virginia. En la prctica, desde que se notifica el inicio de un caso hasta obtener la sentencia final puede haber una espera de aà ±os. Mientras tanto, las estrategias de defensa recomendables son las siguientes: En primer lugar, se deben conocer los derechos. Por ejemplo, no se est obligado a abrir la puerta de casa a menos que los agentes muestren una orden judicial, por ejemplo por debajo de la puerta o a travà ©s de la ventana. Es muy recomendable leer estos consejos de ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union). En segundo lugar, se debe analizar con ojos realistas si existe una posibilidad para regularizar la situacià ³n. Consultar con un abogado de confianza si puede haber un camino. Una de las razones importantes por las que el nà ºmero de deportaciones con Trump no se ha disparado se debe a la labor de abogados, organizaciones de defensa de migrantes y de consulados como los mexicanos que se han volcado en procurar asistencia legal calificada. Es recomendable que cada migrante tenga un buen conocimiento de su situacià ³n, desde el punto de vista legal, que se asesore y como mà ­nimo se informe sobre si hay una orden de detencià ³n por cualquier causa o de deportacià ³n en su contra. En tercer lugar, es recomendable hacer planes preparndose para lo peor. Si al final se dicta orden de deportacià ³n contra la que ya no cabe apelacià ³n es importante haber resuelto asuntos como  ¿quià ©n se hace cargo de los nià ±os?  ¿quià ©n se hace cargo de pagar facturas?, etc. Verificar si en el estado en el que se vive hay que dar un poder de representacià ³n para que las decisiones tengan efectos legales. Finalmente, es fundamental estar informados en todo momento, evitando caer en la desesperacià ³n y tambià ©n ser và ­ctima de un fraude. Tener presente que en momentos de angustia siempre hay personas sin escrà ºpulos que quieren sacar ventaja econà ³mica y prometen arreglos que son imposibles. Perdà ³n para deportados Una vez fuera de Estados Unidos hay que saber que la deportacià ³n lleva una penalidad. El nà ºmero de aà ±os depende de las circunstancias de cada caso. Es cierto que es posible en casos muy excepcionales pedir un perdà ³n, tambià ©n conocido como waiver o permiso. Pero son casos complicados, hay que mirar con un abogado de migracià ³n honesto si se cumplen los requisitos para pedirlo con un mà ­nimo de à ©xito. Finalmente destacar que es una idea muy mala cruzar o intentar cruzar ilegalmente la frontera despuà ©s de una deportacià ³n. Unwind Essay example -- Literary Analysis

Once upon a time, I was a student ignorant of the issues plaguing our nation; issues such as abortion and a frightening scarcity of organ donors meant little to me, who was neither pregnant nor in need of replacement body parts. Today, I fortunately remain a simple witness to these scenarios rather than a participant, but I have certainly established a new perspective since reading Neal Shusterman’s Unwind several years ago. Unwind is a brilliant novel set in the near future following the United States’ second civil war, known as the Heartland War, in which the definition of human life was debated with fatal passion: when does life truly begin and when should it be legally permitted to end? Desperate for an end to the warfare, the factions united in the decision to forbid abortion prior to birth. Instead, children would be given the chance to become worthy of the lives they have been given, but between the ages of thirteen and eighteen they could be sent to â€Å"harvest camps,† where they would then be â€Å"unwound† and sold for little more than scraps to those in dire need of organ donations, a supposedly moral alternative to abortion. The tale follows three â€Å"Unwinds†Ã¢â‚¬â€Connor, Risa, and Lev—as they learn about their twisted society while attempting to escape their fates. The premise of Unwind is a thrill to any teenager who has ever either defied an authority, like Connor, or has ever felt unwanted, such as Risa. As a thirteen-year-old who had dabbled in a little of both from time to time, Unwind was a welcome glimpse into my own subconscious and a realization at how privileged my life has been. The world this novel constructs is a society quite similar to our own, yet its morals have been contaminated: certain lives are considered m... ...ricts, I can’t ignore the fact that districts such as mine, which has already lost so much of its funding, are in need of inexpensive ways to increase efficiency. Another technique implemented in Japan is the use of students as janitors: each day a group of students is assigned to clean their classroom. I believe that if the number of janitors in our schools must be reduced the students should play a part in keeping their environment tidy, be it out of goodwill or punishment. I see this as a great, economical opportunity to maintain the school’s image and promote service. The United States is a melting pot: we have built our country on the customs of many others. We cannot be afraid to revert to old tactics so long as they are successful. Other countries hold the key to success in the education system and the United States must be willing to take note.

With highly automated maintenance, dynamic storage capabilities and deployment flexibility, local IT departments can spend less resources managing desktop software and focus their efforts on strategic initiatives. The largest impact of using the cloud-based Office 365 suite  ¬will be visible to both, users and IT departments. Users will always have the latest features by performing upgrades behind the scenes without any interaction from local IT departments at no additional cost. Microsoft Office 365 consists of five components that are aimed at increasing the productivity of the user base. These include the Office Professional Plus, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, Web Apps, and Lync Online. While each of those components are all cloud-based through the web, they carry the same user-interface and familiarity with the existing Microsoft offerings for desktops. Additionally, content and documents can be transferred back and forth between the desktop applications and Office 365 applications seamlessly. First on the list of offerings in the Microsoft Office 365 suite is the Office Professional Plus package. This package consists of all the traditional Microsoft Office applications including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and OneNote. Each of these applications functions almost identically to their desktop variants and carries the same user interface. Users will be familiar with the environment and require minimal training. While the Office Professional Package allows you to create, modify and view documents, it relies on another component to store, organize, and manage the documents and content. This is the SharePoint Online component. At its core, SharePoint Online is a content management system that allows for collaboration, workflows, real-time updates, and access level management. In addition to the traditional content management functionality, SharePoint Online is also a web portal that allows organizations to create websites and communicate enterprise wide. Functionality includes, but is not limited to wikis, blogs, and discussion forums. The Exchange Online and Lync Online components are all about communication. Exchange Online is an online, service-based email server that works very much like Microsoft Exchange Server. It includes email functionality, content management, and calendar management. Lync Online takes this one step further by adding video and web conferencing functionality, enterprise instant messaging and virtual meetings. All of these communication features of Office 365 are available online from virtually anywhere. Being able to access everything from virtually anywhere is complimented by the ability to use almost any type of device to use Office 365. This includes cell phones, tablets, and even kiosks in malls and other public places. This functionality comes from the Web Apps component of Office 365. Web Apps makes editing, viewing, and sharing content a possibility no matter where you are and what devices you have available to you. It works with all Microsoft Office documents and even enables email and Lync communication functionality on mobile devices. It's the next step in taking the desktop experience to your mobile device. All of these features come together to provide an online solution to meet the demands of today's organizations. By minimizing maintenance, reducing cost, and adding mobility and flexibility, Microsoft aims to offer a next generation solution that will reap all the benefits of the cloud. One major benefit is that you can view your documents, e-mails, calendars, and contacts from on virtually any device you that you own. You also don’t necessarily have to be in a central location. You can view all your documents or email anywhere in the world. Office 365 is a very basic easy to use infrastructure. Everything is user friendly and straight forward. Another feature is that you can edit your documents or edit your calendar from any device. It’s also very safe and secure. The anti-virus and ant-spam are updated frequently. With this technology you can rely on never losing a document again. It’s all stored in a cloud environment. With the cloud environment you can communicate with people all over the world. With this environment it saves businesses a lot of money. Office 365 is based on a pay as you go option. The pricing is based per person on a monthly basis. It’s virtually very cheap to purchase. One key benefit is that it is very cost effective. This product is a pay-as-you-go service. Even though the prices are on a monthly base it’s still very affordable. Microsoft came up with three different plans. Businesses can choose their preference based on the necessity or features they want. Everyone from small businesses to educational institutions can utilize this product. Office 365 helps businesses save money and time. Office 365 can be used on a vast array of devices from PCs to hand held devices. The first plan is designed for a small business which consists of up to 25 employees. This plan is paid monthly. This plan is six dollars per user/per month. This access includes mobile access. With mobile devices the only requirement is that it has a Wi-Fi connection. With this fee it includes many features such as e-mail, ease of access to view documents anywhere, use of SharePoint, and many other functions. With e-mail functionality you get up to 25MB of storage. E-mail archiving is also a great benefit. Another feature is the ease of access of viewing documents online. Not only can documents be viewed online but documents can be easily edited online also. The second plan is for midsize businesses and enterprises. This plan can be purchased on a monthly plan or a yearly plan. The cost is ten dollars to twenty seven dollars per month. This cost is per user/per month. The key benefits with this plan is that you get 24/7 support, anti-virus is supported, ease of distributing documents through SharePoint, and the use of instant messaging for business meetings. Another major benefit is that you can have unlimited e-mail storage. It also consists of â€Å"Enterprise voice†. This is a key advancement in order to lower the costs of communication. With this feature you don’t need the use of a telephone but you do need internet connection to use the many features. The last plan that is offered is the â€Å"Kiosk Worker Plan†. The price is four dollars to ten dollars per user/per month. This plan is geared towards people who work in retail or people who share PCs. This plan consists of a 500 MB e-mail storage size. Kiosk workers utilize Microsoft Exchange to view their e-mail or calendar. They also have the ease of editing documents on the web. They only have basic editing rights. With the four dollar plan they can only view the documents and they can’t make any changes. Implementation Plan The way office 365 is going to be implemented into the business is simple, but it is very important that when you introduce a new product like Office 365 that we do so methodically, by doing so we avoid lot of errors and make it easy for the people that are going to be using this product. What we must first do is a detail introduction of the product to all the active stakeholders, this done by either calling for a meeting or sending information and introduction guides to the stakeholders. After the introduction briefing it is now up to us to study the costumer infrastructure and do a run through of all the activities that we will do and the problems that might occur during this process. Upon this review we can now give the costumer timeline and guidance of the installation process. Upon completion, it is now time to give the company help or service desk training regarding common problem solving. After this we can now start doing the testing of the product on site and in the process giving training to those that are eventually going to be using Office 365. Finally we do the actual migration of our data into the new cloud system. Office 365 will now allow user to access their e-mail, important documents, contacts, and calendar on nearly any device from almost anywhere. It frees you to work where and when you choose, allowing you to respond to important requests right away, no matter where you are. Because you can use your mobile device to access e-mail and documents, you won’t have to hurry back to the office or look for a Wi-Fi hot spot if you are using your computer. Cloud Computing in Office 365 represents a competitive advantage that the company keeps advertizing about. Digitalized personal data and record of daily life can be spread through the internet very easily; thus, it made means of protecting that information more important than any time in the past, changing today’s perception about privacy from the past. Furthermore, spread in use of smart phones advanced the internet by far more, creating many more service available as well. Spain decided on the case, concluding that people’s right to be forgotten or right to oblivion has been violated. The right for people’s privacy has changed over time as technology improved. As technology improved, one’s history stays on digital record much longer than days of analog. Trying to prevent the harm that may result from this introduced people the right to be forgotten. It is new idea people started to see as digital advancement, especially use of internet became widely accessible to the public. Not only in Spain, but also in all across Europe, this newly introduced right, right to be forgotten, is under being considered. On July 6th, 2011, European Parliament decided on â€Å"a comprehensive approach on personal data protection in the European Union†; thi s resolution right to be forgotten is critical need to grant people their private rights.
